However, if you then go to the page with the linked image (by clicking, scrolling, or command-J), shortly after you get there the file will be marked as dirty. If you save the document while viewing the page without the image, then when you re-open it (and see the imageless page) the file is not marked be as dirty even if you wait. Wait 2-20 seconds, doing nothing to change the document.Įxpected result: document opens to page with placed image, nothing else happens / changes.Īctual result: document opens to page with placed image, and after a delay the document is marked as changed (asterisk appears in tab before the filename, InDesign prompts to save document when you close it)Īdditional detail: It seems to key off of viewing the page with the linked image, not just opening the file. Place Image, onto the page you're viewing (I did a PNG)Ħ. MacOS Mojave (10.14.6) on two different computersģ. You should really consider working on your interactivity problems, as more and more people are using InDesign for digital publishing, especially those who are working on print projects that also need to be converted into digital formats.Īdditional versions tried: 15.0.3, 15.0, 14.0.3 It took me about 30 minutes to hack this, but it's obviously a problem. I finally figured out how to fix it, which involved adding an additional roll over action to the button as well, deleting my original "on release" action, deleting the roll over action, and then RE-adding the "on release" action again. "Go back on roll over" seems like something that should be SOLELY associated with roll over actions, and should be disabled as soon as you delete/remove ANY roll over actions you have created. If you go and look at your "on click" or "on release" action you created, the "go back on roll off" box is showing and is checked and is greyed out so you cannot edit that option. I initially could NOT figure out why this was happening, and it was totally screwing up my on-click actions in my project.Įventually, I think I figured out that it seems to happen when you create a button, add an "on roll over" action and check the box "go back on roll off", then create ANOTHER action (like "on click"), and then DELETE the original "on roll over" action. I was working on an interactive project and found that the "go back on roll over" option becomes turned on and greyed out so you cannot un-check the box when adding an "upon release" action to a button.
